Seattle Dance Competition Needs Your Vote Ahead of Epic Night to End Homelessness
The stars will align on Saturday, March 11 for a dance competition of epic proportions. Based off of the hit TV show “Dancing With the Stars,” the 8th annual Seattle Dances Gala matches professional dancers with local celebrities to perform live in front of an audience and panel of judges in hopes of taking home one of the coveted trophies.
Last year, a sold-out crowd raised a record-breaking $650,000. This year, the event is looking to raise the bar even higher. Held at Fremont Studios, the gala benefits nonprofit Plymouth Housing Group, whose mission is to help the homeless obtain sustainable housing in the Seattle area.
Over a grueling 15 weeks, the nine participating Seattle luminaries trained with professional dancers from Century Ballroom to create a two- to three-minute dance to be performed at the gala. On the night of the competition, three trophies will be awarded based on both talent and funds raised for the event — and our very own Mary Norris needs your vote.
Mary, who is performing the Argentine Tango as one of the celebrity dancers, is currently vying for your votes online. The dancer who receives the most votes will win the Cyber Choice Trophy. Each vote is $1, and you can vote as many times as you like up until midnight on March 10.
Vote online, snag a ticket to the event, prepare to bid in a live auction, and don’t forget your dancing shoes as Shelley and the Curves will close out the night for the perfect ending to an unforgettable evening.
